RE-CYCLING STABLE POLSTEAD & more

Here’s an easy way to de-clutter your life…..

Do you know about the RE-CYCLING STABLE at Cock Farm, Polstead? This is a collecting point for your Redundant Hand Tools (all trades including carpenter, plumber, car mechanic etc.) Also Bikes and Bike Parts.

Sewing Machines, Typewriters and Knitting Machines
are also welcome. ALL these items - which are taking up space in your loft or garage - will be sorted, repaired and packed into kits by volunteers at Tools with a Mission in Ipswich. The tools are then sent by sea container and overland to some of the most remote and poorest communities where people are desperate to work and earn a living - but just dont have the tools to get on with the job.  Tools will also go to workshops and training schools  where school drop outs and street children will be able to learn a trade.   TWAM even provides special start-up kits for young people who have had basic training.  So every screw-driver, hammer and chisel that you provide will find a welcome new home.

This is a win WIN WIN  situation - you gain space by clearing un-needed stuff out of your home;  another load of old tools is saved from landfill and, most important of all, someone far away gains a way to earn a living.

So GO ON.  De-clutter your home today. Then phone Ruth Riddleston on 01206 262389 to fix a time to deliver the goods.

WHAT ABOUT THINGS THAT ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR THE RE-CYCLE STABLE??

while you are in the clearing up mood, look out for household goods which you no longer need.  Several charities are willing to take them on for repair and resale. Here are some suggestions:

British Heart Foundation shops welcome a wide range of furniture and household goods, including some electrical goods in working order.  These will then be sold to raise money for their cause. 01206 575242.  Free collection.

-EMMAUS in Colchester  provides an alternative to homelessness by providing a secure place to live and  paid work refurbishing furniture  which is then sold at low cost to families who are being rehoused.   emmauscolchester@btconnect.com or 01206 768887.  Free collection.
